Legacy

edit

Remove the text about him being the greatest tennis player of all time, as this is biased and out-of-date, even if there's a time span written. Are we gonna put that there for every player who gets called the greatest ever by the media? i hope not. 84.74.82.172 (talk) 23:09, 20 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Change "Federer became the first man to win 20 major singles titles and shortly after the oldest ATP world No. 1 at the time, at age 36." to "Federer became the first man to win 20 major singles titles and shortly after the oldest ATP world No. 1 at the time, at age 36. This feat would later be surpassed by his other main rival, Novak Djokovic." 2600:1700:A410:C4E0:7559:6592:8AD3:D18 (talk) 23:34, 2 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Wordy lead sentence

edit

The following sentence in the lead is wordy: "He won 103 singles titles on the ATP Tour, the second most of all time, including 20 major men's singles titles (among which a record eight men's singles Wimbledon titles, and an Open Era joint-record five men's singles US Open titles) and six year-end championships." 2A02:14F:1EB:CBA3:6DB2:28B3:379F:8F6E (talk) 23:15, 7 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

This sentence should be separated, and include also the records of five in a row Wimbledon and US Open titles 2A02:14F:1EB:CBA3:6DB2:28B3:379F:8F6E (talk) 23:18, 7 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

One of GOATS

Why there's no mention of his status as ONE of the greatest tennis players of all time in the lead section ? 109.224.54.43 (talk) 19:00, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Usually because it's water cooler stuff that is not encyclopedic. It's in the legacy section. Fyunck(click) (talk) 06:08, 27 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
