edit@Tseung Kwan O, Robert McClenon, and Kiri Glintborg: I have some observations about this article:
- The title seems to be a bad fit to the actual content of the article: the main thrust of the article seems to be around the neurotoxic effects of MDMA, rather than the specific effects of Serotonin on VOP.
- The lead section doesn't really summarise the topic very well. What we need is something that says why the topic is important, and very briefly what it is. So something like "Visual orientation processing is affected by Serotonin due to its effects on orientation sensitive neurons in the occipital lobe. When serotonin levels are depleted, for example in habitual MDMA users, this causes an increase in the magnitude of a visual illusion called the tilt aftereffect, which demonstrates the neurotoxic effects of MDMA.
- The referencing is way too heavy: If a point needs a reference, find the most relevant one or two, or maximum three citations to support it (if it's very contentious). There are up to eight references used to support a single statement in the article text. That would be considered excessive in most scientific journals, let alone a general encyclopedia like this one.
