Other Uses Not LIsted

edit

There are other uses for "Roll Over," such as the command for a dog and the nursery rhyme involving a group of bears in bed, that don't seem to have articles for them. DanMat6288 (talk) 18:01, 4 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

In highway design

edit

As justification for the meaning in highway engineering, see Illinois DOT Bureau of Design & Environment Manual - 2002 Edition, Chapter 36, Figure 36-2J, page 36-2(20). Cstaffa (talk) 02:56, 22 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

WP:NOPRIMARY. The three articles Rollover (film), Rollover (finance) and Rollover (web design) together get about the same number of page views as the article on vehicle accidents, and adding Rollover (fire) makes the split about 40/60. page stats. 85.238.91.68 (talk) 00:48, 5 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Rollover cable actually gets almost as many views as Rollover, but is not a candidate for primary topic. 85.238.91.68 (talk) 00:50, 5 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yes, "accident" was my first choice, but not all rollovers are accidents, and "vehicular" seemed unnecessarily awkward. Some authorities dislike "accident" and prefer "collision" , as discussed at Traffic collision#Terminology, so it may not be neutral. Dynamic rollover is indented in the DAB page underneath this, so I was trying to find a term that didn't exclude helicopters, although it's probably better just to outdent it. 85.238.91.68 (talk) 09:27, 5 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
I've moved Dynamic rollover to See also as a partial title match. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 14:27, 5 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Even vehicle rollover would be a better choice than the proposed parenthetical. -- Netoholic @ 14:38, 5 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Good idea – my quick search shows it to be reasonably common, especially in insurance and legal circles. I've scrubbed my original suggestion as nom. I doubt there's any real confusion with dynamic rollover, but a hatnote would sort that out. 85.238.91.68 (talk) 21:04, 5 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for cleaning up the page. It looks much better now. 85.238.91.68 (talk) 21:04, 5 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
