editQuick note for editors here: the guidelines at Template:Infobox military conflict state about the "result" parameter: "(optional) this parameter may use one of two standard terms: "X victory" or "Inconclusive". The term used is for the "immediate" outcome of the "subject" conflict and should reflect what the sources say. In cases where the standard terms do not accurately describe the outcome, a link or note should be made to the section of the article where the result is discussed in detail (such as "See the Aftermath section")." Currently the result says something else about religious tolerance. This should be moved to the body of the article and editors should discuss what the appropriate "result" would be instead, if any, or add a note pointing readers to the "Peace treaty" section, for example. - By this, you removed a source without explanation, changed already cited material without explanation, and added a result that is not supported explicitly by at least one of the sources you cited (Greatrex & Lieu, which is a compilation of primary sources and thus not what we use on Wikipedia to support basic information), and your change in the infobox does not match what the article describes, which defeats the purpose of an infobox. I suggest you stop trying to change the "Result" parameter across multiple articles and discuss them on the talk pages first from now on. R Prazeres (talk) 17:43, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
- One of the sources that I indicated literally says that the Romans won this war, but the second says that the balance was on the side of the Romans and the peace treaty was concluded on the terms of the Romans, I think this is enough to indicate the result "Victory of the Romans" Gypsygreek (talk) 19:14, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
- Which source? Greatrex and Lieu isn't relevant here like I said, and Decker is not publicly accessible. If the latter says anything of the sort, it still stands at odds with the rest of the article, which describes the Romans declaring war on the Sassanians and then returning to a status quo. If you can present other reliable (secondary) sources that explicitly say this and/or if other editors agree, then by all means you can proceed with this addition, but without all the other unexplained changes you made.
