Proposed merging of Abdalong

The current article on Abdalong is a biographical article. It cannot be expanded, in the absence of evidence. The diocese of Marseille article has an entirely different purpose, which is not biographical. Moreover Abdalong is not mentioned among the bishops of Marseille by Louis Duchesne, Fastes épiscopaux I. J. Albanès, Gallia christiana novissima: Marseille, p. 33, says, "Admis avec hésitation sur la seule autorité de Molanus et la foi du Martyrologe gallican de du Saussay." (A martyrology is the only source) Putting Abdalong in the list of Bishops of Marseille would be distracting. Leave bad enough alone.

If one were to merge the Abdalong article, then why not merge all the articles on all of the bishops of Marseille?? The principle, if there is one, and the reasons would be the same. I am OPPOSED to this pointless tinkering, which does not improve the content of Wikipedia. --Vicedomino (talk) 19:35, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
