Infobox flag
editI removed the Italian Republic flag icon from the Infobox, in accordance with several sections of WP:ICON; specifically (quoting),
- "Generally, flag icons should not be used in infoboxes, even when there is a "country", "nationality" or equivalent field: they are unnecessarily distracting and give undue prominence to one field among many...."
- "Flags make simple, blunt statements about nationality, while words can express the facts with more complexity." [Albenga was part of Savoyard, French, Genoese, Imperial and other political units before it became part of Italy]
- "Do not rewrite history. Flags should not be used to misrepresent the nationality of a historical figure [including some bishops], event, object, etc. Political boundaries change, often over the span of a biographical article subject's lifetime. Where ambiguity or confusion could result, it is better not to use a flag at all, and where one is genuinely needed, use the historically accurate flag."
Parishes
editThe section on Parishes presents a number of problems:
(1) excessive number of red links (which probably will never achieve notability); (2) individual items are not referenced; (3) wiki-links are to Italian communes, not to parishes, and the communes do not mention parishes; (4) doubtful purpose for the list, which section does not make clear.
Is the list notable? Simply because it exists and can be cut-and-pasted, does not make it notable. The diocese maintains a list of its parishes on its website. The list in this Wikipedia article, which consumes a great deal of space, should probably be deleted.
