Homonym

edit

Romanoa is currently in use for two genera governed by the same nomenclatural code (ICNAFP). This shouldn't happen, and one of the names will need to be replaced. Until a replacement name is given for the later homonym, the best we can do on Wikipedia is reflect the names as they are currently being used. Both genera are monotypic, and although general practice on Wikipedia for monotypic genera is to title the article at the genus name, I have moved the articles to the species title to free up the ambiguous genus name for disambiguation. As far as I can determine, the fungus genus is the later homonym (described in 1954), but the plant genus was languishing in obscurity at that time (first described in 1848, but not widely used until 1980).
