At Rome there could be a dab notice, but "Rome" is "Rome" not Rome, New York. Perspective! Wetman 23:25, 14 Mar 2004 (UTC)

I dont see the point of having the Romani(Gypsy) link on this page. It is mere coinsidence that there name resembles the entity that is Rome. I am going to erase it. Any serious beefs with that, please drop me a line. --Lucius Sempronius Turpio 13:25, 23 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've added the Roman Catholic Church, as in "going over to Rome". Richard Pinch (talk) 21:18, 29 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

'Rome' as symbol in Islamic/jihadist speeches?

edit

'Rome' seems to be used as symbol of something, in speeches of jihadists and/or other Muslims. See for example this article (July 2014), with a speech of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. What exacly does it symbolize? The world? The Christian world? Do we have a source for its Islamic-symbolic meaning? --Corriebertus (talk) 12:19, 24 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Europe, the West, Christianity is my guess. Legacypac (talk) 07:24, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
