Ranganathan's birthdate is not clear and should be omitted unless clarified explicitly by a reliable source. As I pointed out in March 2021, the previous claimed birthday we were using (27 March 1978) was not actually given in any of the sources that supposedly verified it, and an episode of The Ranganation claims that he was born on 23 March 1978. However, since then on Instagram he posted about his birthday this year being on 27 March; at this point, I removed the birthdate altogether due to the lack of an authoritative source on the matter. I have regularly encountered social media posts by celebrities about their birthdays being incorrect—I can't fully explain why, but it happens frequently. They are not a sufficient source here. — Bilorv (talk) 18:34, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

I've removed an anecdote about Ranganathan's legal first name being Jonathan, sourced from one of his stand-up specials. It's a bit trivial for an encyclopedia article, but is there even a reliable source for this really being his full name? It's perfectly plausible, but also wouldn't be terribly controversial if it had been made up or altered for comedic effect. Bigbluefish (talk) 10:59, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
