- I added his name to this article list, started a stub article on him (Ronald D. Cohen), and linked to the stub article from numerous existing articles. But another editor tagged the article for speedy deletion and deleted it within minutes, despite my having WP:NOTE sources, and without discussing anything at talk after I contested the speedy deletion. Ronald Mourad Cohen
editFriendly greetings MBUSHIstory. The above named instance of Ronald Cohen is known in the UK at least as the founder of Apax Partners, no article I have ever seen uses his full name and no other Ronald Cohen has received significant media coverage. Apax have been involved in a number of recent cases alleging fraud so this article may be expanded. I know you acted in good faith but the article should not have been moved without consensus. The disambiguation page is useful but I would be grateful if you could move it back. The original page was viewed oved 800 times last month, see http://stats.grok.se/en/201601/ronald%20cohen Regards JRPG (talk) 12:06, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
- JRPG, I moved your comment from my talk page to this talk page so others could comment. I am not sure what you are asking for or suggesting. If you are suggesting one Ronald Cohen is more entitled to an article in his name, without a distinguishing middle initial, than another, Ronald E. Cohen won the Dana Medal, which is more significant (to some) than any coverage in the mainstream media, and the society that made the award is itself a secondary source as to the historical significance of him via his work. - Agreed that the comment is best here and thanks for a speedy reply. I am absolutely no admirer of Mourad as a human being or contributor to society, & added the MPs comments about British United Shoe Machinery in the controversies. However, much as I regret it, he is very much better known than Ronald E or Ronald D and the normal rules say therefore the article should not be moved but there should be a disambiguation page for lesser known people. I'd like comments from Wgolf. Regards JRPG (talk) 14:25, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
- I have never heard of the Ron Cohen the business person. I have heard of the Dana Medal. What are the "normal rules" you refer to? MBUSHIstory (talk) 15:02, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
- His article dates back to March 2006 and is the primary topic based on both article traffic statistics usage and precedence. Wikipedia:Moving a page#Reasons for moving a page point 4 shows that the primary topic doesn't need moving. FWIW I've never heard of Ronald Mourad Cohen and I don't think many journalists will have done either. Regards JRPG (talk) 20:51, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
