Talk:Ronda

Ronda was the place where republicans murdered nationalists, by pushing them off the cliffs.

edit

Just the opposite of the "facts" of the article.

This is exactly what Hemmingway describes in his book. The event really took place during the first days of the civil war, before the republicans tasted the nationalists revenge.

The Spanish republican hero in Hemmingways book (Pilar's husbend) describes the massacre, and has some remorse about it. Especially because some of the victims were ordinary peace-loving citizens (while others were bloody aristocrats). The event is described as taking place in a Castilla town, but the cliff-throwing event matches the Ronda story. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.8.117.126 (talk) 15:05, 26 February 2007 (UTC).Reply

Rilke

edit

I'm not particularly active on Wikipedia right now, but someone should certainly add material about Rainer Maria Rilke, who spent considerable time here; it was reportedly his favorite place. There are several things named after him in Ronda including (weirdly) a driving school. - Jmabel | Talk 20:05, 18 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

If someone is looking for a project...

edit

... a tremendous amount could be done here. There are quite a few famous buildings in Ronda that are, at best, given a bare mention here. [1] might provide good guidance. I believe we have pictures on Commons of about half of the buildings in question, although not all of them are ideal. The Spanish and German articles are both more extensive, and might prove useful. (Another good project would be if anyone is in Ronda, take pictures with this encyclopedia in mind.) - Jmabel | Talk 15:23, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have a good panorama of the landscape around Ronda looking west, more than 180 degrees view, that I hope looks better than the existing picture.

Please wait for a response on this talkpage when you announce your intentions to include these Terje Raa travel stories. Don’t include them yourself, as including these links are your only contributions here, you seem to have a conflict of interest. Please wait for community input, thanks. --Van helsing 12:37, 26 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orson Welles ashes

edit

Most sources cite his resting place as a well, located on the rural property of his friend the retired bullfighter Antonio Ordonez, rather than a bull fighting ring. Can this be corrected?

Madonna - Take a Bow

edit

Why doesn't the article say anything about the fact that Madonna's "Take a Bow" was shot there? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xf6uRT-Rlo4 :) --გიგა (talk) 18:58, 6 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Puerte Romano Error

edit

The internal link to Puerte Romano on this page goes to a page describing a bridge in the city of Merida. If the Puerte Romano bridge in Ronda has a page on Wikipedia that should be linked here instead, I cannot find it. 2601:600:A180:17C0:1042:16C0:6BCB:CBDF (talk) 23:59, 27 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
