This article needs attention for these reasons and others:
First, there are no sources. Not one. I know Arledge was a television pioneer and there must be reference material somewhere.
The style is that of an adoring fan rather than that of a reference work. One example: '...Arledge sent Scherick a remarkable memo, filled with youthful exuberance...' That must be some memo - where are the details and references? Additionally, there are grammatical errors in every section.
There's more here about Edgar J. Scherick than there is on Scherick's own Wikipedia page. That must be fixed, so Scherick's information goes to Scherick's page and Arledge remains the subject of his own page.
There's a reference to Arledge's military service, but it just says 'military service intervened.' What branch of service was he in and for how long?
I see a 'major rewrite' tag near the bottom (above the ABC News section) but the whole piece needs objectivity and editing for NPOV. It's also been edited, especially lately, by people who do not have Wikipedia accounts. I (and all users) invite everyone to register and join in the discussion and verification process. We won't bite or give you fleas. :) - ddlamb02:51, 8 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I'm surprised that this article isn't considered much more important. To quote from the article itself, "Arledge was selected by Life magazine as one of the '100 Most Important Americans of the 20th Century'. Sports Illustrated ranked him number three in a list of 'the 40 individuals who have most significantly altered or elevated the world of sports in the last four decades'."
