original research
At this stage, this article seems to violate Wikipedia:No original research. The information needs to have citations from reliable sources to demonstrate Wikipedia:Verifiability. --Moonriddengirl 18:46, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
It seems to me like the whole thing was copied from an FAQ on a website about the town of Elliston Virginia. Or another town with the same name. 67.131.216.11 (talk) 03:44, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Elliston, Newfoundland, Canada, actually. The text is copied from [1]. I was about to tag the article for deletion as copyvio but in the article history, someone claiming to be the author of that web site said they gave permission to use the text. But most of the article seems to be about the town of Elliston, not about root cellars in general. I am going to BE BOLD and delete everything about Elliston. Possible references
I do not have time right now, so in case I forget to come back and re-write this article, I was thinking that these are some good references. The article will need to be re-written, of course.
An Old Time Dugout Root Cellar
These represent the research of Al Durtschi from Walton Feed in Idaho.

- It's old, I know but both those links are deadlinks. Manytexts (talk) 07:23, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
picture not appropriate
The picture appears not to be appropriate to the article, which is about the building type cellar. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.3.112.87 (talk) 13:33, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
