Six years on, but on checking the images on the page for the May 2018 version, all were correctly identified as Roseate Terns. I'm guessing it was the taxobox image being queried, as it does look superficially somewhat like Forster's Terns, but that can be safely excluded by the length of the tail streamers; Forster's has much shorter streamers than Roseate, and these birds have long streamers. Additionally, the bills are slender; Forster's has a stouter bill than Roseate. We do now have better photos of Roseate Terns at Commons though, and I'll change the pic (and add some others) shortly - MPF (talk) 23:33, 28 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
