edit"(It lost the env gene normally seen in avian retroviruses during the recombination events that allowed it to acquire src)" is false. Prague C RSV- the standard strain has four genes, gag, pol, env and src. ref Dennis E. Merger from Src (gene)
editThe src (gene) page is currently a mixture of Src family, v-src, and c-src information that is confusing all three subjects. I think it would benefit by separating the relevant information to pages defining each topic: Src family kinase for family information; the src section of Rous sarcoma virus for v-src information; the C-src tyrosine kinase page for c-src information. This would mean separating the muddled info from protein tables too. If there are no objections, I will continue with this soon, or if I don't get around to it soon, please feel free to take on this task. ~ Ciar ~ (Talk) 06:46, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- I think that it should remain as it is since it is more helpful to have the c-src/v-src info in the same place. Many thanks
- Thank you for your feedback---will not merge.~ Ciar ~ (Talk) 05:12, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
