Roy Jack
editRoy Jack was an MP from 13.11.54 to 24.12.77 when he died, transferring from Waimarino to Rangtikei in 1972 when Waimarino was abolished (though the 1972 general election results for Rangitikei should be checked). The statement that he only represented Rangitikei from 1973 appears to be a mistake.
According to Wilson, Waimarino (NZ electorate) was an electorate fron 1911 to 1972 and Roy Jack was the MP 1963-72 (page 273). Roy Jack then transferred to Rangitikei (NZ electorate) where he was the MP from 1972 to 1977 when he died (page 271). He would have been elected for Rangitikei in the New Zealand general election, 1972, although the results by seat are not in the 1972 article. Wilson’s listing for Roy Jack however shows him as MP for Waimarino to 26.10.72 and then for Rangitikei from 29.11.73 (page 207). But Wilson must have made a mistake in the day and year ie he was MP for Rangitikei from 25.11.72 (the date of the general election) not 29.11.73. The Marshall Ministry of 1972 has Roy Jack as Minister of Justice & Attorney-General from 9.2.72 to 8.12.72 (page 91). Hugo999 (talk) 11:16, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
Confirmed that Roy Jack was elected MP for Rangitikei (NZ electorate) in the New Zealand general election, 1972 on 25 November, with an election-night majority of 2067 (down from Shelton's 1969 majority of 4214). From Dominion of 27 Nov 1972. Hugo999 (talk) 01:38, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
