I've converted the Roy Señeres presidential campaign, 2016 article into a redirect to Roy Señeres but this was contested by Angelo6397 who rever the edit, then Shhhhwwww!! converted it back to a redirect. Prior to these Supergabbyshoe proposed the article's deletion per WP:PROD just after Seneres announced that he would withdraw his candidacy but reverted the edit since COMELEC said that Seneres is still officially a candidate back then (and not yet deceased).
My reasoning behind the redirect is, aside that Seneres is dead and is effectively out of the race, is that there is nothing unique about the content on Seneres' campaign page (aside from the campaign slogans which are unsourced). It would be fine if there is a "Platform" section to state Seneres promises specifically made as part of his campaign and specifics on the marketing aspects (tv ads, if he had one) etc. But for now, I see it reasonable to merge the article for now.
I agree with the merge. Technically, the campaign does not start until February 9, and the candidate withdrew and eventually died before the official campaign period began. Arius1998 (talk) 02:53, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
I redirected it because it was then a identical copy of the main Roy Seneres page except the infobox and the senate slate. The key word is "for now" but then I realized that a redirect would discourage the expansion of the article.
I added more info about the campaign itself. Merging content as it stands now to the main Roy Seneres page would put too much weight on his presidential campaign which is undesirable since his career doesn't just revolve on the 2016 bid but he is notable in other grounds as well such as his involvement with OFWs such as the case of Sarah Balabagan.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 17:19, 10 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
I would suggest to further substantiate the main biographical article first. If he is notable enough, then this article has the potential to be promoted. As it currently stands, this article is only Start-class. In addition, I personally do not think it is comparable to the Bachmann campaign, which is definitely longer than that of Seneres. The way we elect here is not the same as in the United States. Please understand. Arius1998 (talk) 01:55, 17 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
