Honourable Artillery Company?
editThe Honourable Artillery Company has been included in the list of Royal Guards. Whilst not certain, I don't really think that this is right - they're a unit far more closely associated to the City of London than to the Monarch (despite the fact that the monarch is their Captain General). Is this possibly being mistaken for the King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery? The Thieving Gypsy (talk) 20:34, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, while it is a distinguished (and very old) regiment the HAC has no particular link with the Monarchy or role as a Royal Guard. Suggest that the reference be taken out. In the meantime I have tried to tidy up this page by deleting the extended text under Royal Guards that followed. The first section was childish gibberish. The remainder was perfectly rational but had been cut and pasted from a separate Wiki article Queen's Guards (121.73.91.201 (talk) 21:15, 21 December 2010 (UTC)).

Consistent basis of selection in the UK list
editIf we're listing units, then the Life Guards are missing, and "Queen's Guard" describes not a unit but a job performed every 24 or 48 hours by a different unit. If we're listing jobs, it should be "The Queen's Life Guard" and "Queen's Guard", although that does somewhat leave the Gentlemen at Arms, Archers and King's Troop out of it a little! To avoid too lengthy a list, could I propose "Household Cavalry; Foot Guards; King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery; Gentlemen at Arms and Yeomen of the Guard (England) and Royal Company of Archers (Scotland), in the United Kingdom?
