Help req'd: Visit of Princess Margaret(?) in Sydney (Australia) in mid 1970s

edit

Looking for help in pinning down when and which royal visited around the middle of or late 1970s.

My recollection is I was a Brownie Guide or Girl Guide. I don't think it was Princess Anne, because the visitor was most likely around Princess Margaret's age.

We were at Glengarry, the Brownie Guide and Girl Guide campsite in Turramurra, Sydney.

She might have planted a tree, and/or we might have buried a time capsule.

Anyone with a better recollection than mine?

Thanks. 49.185.138.95 (talk) 10:15, 11 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Only reigning monarch

edit
"[Queen Elizabeth II] is the only reigning monarch of Australia to have set foot on Australian soil"

Is this interpreted by most to mean "to have set foot on Australian soil while being the reigning monarch"? Or does it need updating, since Charles III has set foot on Australian soil (even though he was not the monarch at the time)? -- Chuq (talk) 05:01, 12 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Change from saying British to Australian

edit

In the article description and in various other places throughout the article the family is referred to as the British Royal Family. whilst this isn't strictly incorrect, as they are in fact the same family, when in the context of Australia they act as the Australian Royal Family as the British and Australian crowns are entirely separate legal entities. Thus, I believe that as this article is solely about Australia that the family should be referred to as Australian and not British within this context. What do we think of this? Cheers in Advance. @Aggressively Monarchist Australian I agree, the Australian crown is separate from the British Crown perhaps, refer just as The Royal Family - as it was the British Royal family up until the merger of the crowns. Knowledgework69 (talk) 22:47, 22 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
