Highs and Lows

Does it even make sense to have "High" and "Low" on the chart during the second half of the show? I mean after a certain episode they don't distinguish between the safe and the best/worst. After a while it's just winner and bottom 2. For example, in week 11 why is Bianca Del Rio "safe" and not "high" and why is Courtney Act "low" and not "safe"?

I completely understand the frustration. I've edited the Drag Race for three seasons now, and it's the same every time. Last season it was pretty bad, and I put a request to semi-protect it, but they refused at the time because they were saying it wasn't that bad. At the time, I considered it pretty bad, but they didn't. This season, I don't think it's actually that bad, it's under control. I would be really surprised if someone was to put a semi-protection. Sort order

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but don't we usually do an alpha sort for all queens still in the competition? So at this point Kelly should be on the bottom of the table and everyone else should be alpha. Otherwise it'll get too complicated to determine sort order as the episodes and results continue. Question: Does the order presented spoil the show? In previous Season pages, the order of the contestants seems to predict their order of elimination and therefore who wins overall. Is this a coincidence or intentional? Does the person creating the table have inside knowledge to the out come of the show? Or perhaps they are just good at predicting the order of elimination.

I'm not sure if I understand your concerns. The table is currently sorted in alphabetical order and it's always been like that. Of course, the queens eliminated are in order of elimination. Please specify if you meant something else. ─ Fabzzz _talk 16:57, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

The reason the list of contestants on past seasons are in elimination order is that they're re-sorted after each elimination. At the start of the season, they're all alphabetical. When someone is eliminated, they're moved to the end section in order of their elimination. By the end of the season, they are entirely in elimination order. The current season is alphabetical for contestants still on the show and then in reverse order of elimination. If by chance your concern is that someone who hasn't watched a previous season will be spoiled by the table, then you might want to read WP:SPOILER to learn why we don't avoid things like that. Ben De La Creme vandalism

Someone changed Ben De La Creme's name in the contestant graph to "Michelle Visage" as a joke because of there comparison on the show, I would change it back myself but I don't know his birth name. --LurganShmith (talk) 01:41, 1 March 2014 (UTC)

The Gray spaces

For the queens, for the part of the premiere they didn't compete in they have a gray block and I just don't like the look given as the gray has always been used for when a queen isn't present on the show any longer/has been eliminated. I know they weren't present for both openings, but they had to be eliminated and I think something like 'IN' or 'DNC' short for 'Did Not Compete' would be and look better than just the blank gray that sort of blends and blurs some of the spaces together. 71.104.231.7 (talk) 05:12, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

I agree it looks a little weird, but I'm hoping it will look better once we get some weeks with all the contestants in there. I'm taking a wait and see approach, personally. If anything, maybe a light grey instead of dark grey? But I'd rather wait a week or two first to see how it looks. I've been trying to play around with it, and this is the best I could come up with... It looks a bit weird now, but I think after a few weeks it will look better. I know we're already using silver for the runner-ups', but I thought the difference in shades of gray was obvious enough that this would work. But, I noticed you added the <  The contestant did not participate in this episode.> right in the middle of the boxes that explain how well the contestant did in the episode, all of which are arranged in a gradient from best to worst, which brakes up that gradient... So it makes more sense to place it at the bottom of the list... Age and name

Hello,

I would like to open a talk about whether or not we should add a "(ages stated are at time of contest)" notice before the contestants table. We can see that sometimes in a Reality-tv show, it tells (ages stated are at time of contest) because it's true, it shows the age at the time of filming.

Not only I'm wondering if we should add that for the age, but also add something for the name of the contestants. I'm saying this because we have a few contestants that have actually transitionned and are now women (Carmen Carrera, Sonique, etc). Perhaps we should add a notice for the name too?

I don't know if noting contestants who have transitioned matters besides what is already noted on the main RuPaul's Drag Race page. It seems like too much to do since we usually only have one trans contestant per season and it doesn't affect how they do in the show. Well I know America's Next Top Model does... It was brought to my attention only because someone changed the real life name of Carmen Carrera to Carmen Carrera on season 3's page and i realized no where it says that either age or name were at the time of filming. Is time of filming known? Kelly Mantle's farewell message

At the end of the first episode while Kelly is still writing the message and during her walk away from the mirror you can clearly see she wrote "Love u girlz! Rock your Pussies! XOXO Kelly Mantle P.S. Eat my Bacon!", before the producers wiped away "Pussies" and replaced it with "Pxxxxxx" for when the girls came back to wipe it away. I just wasn't sure which should be used since technically her message didn't use the x's. I know currently the article uses the x's, which is why I'm asking; I didn't want to just go and put "pussies" on a Wikipedia article without making sure it was okay. --LurganShmith (talk) 05:28, 15 March 2014 (UTC)

The Covergurlz

All the queens participated in the album The Covergurlz. They all did a cover of one of RuPaul's song.

Unless The Covergurlz charted on a recognized chart (iTunes isn't included¹) a new article made in it's name sake would be deleted for lack of notability per Wikipedia guidelines. As usual, I had time in my hands and decided to do the tracklist for the album. I added the link for each song to the original album or article. I also added the collapsible feature, since this will be in the season 6 page, and I was afraid it would look too busy. The collapsible feature can be removed easily if people think it's unnecessary. You can use it if you do the soundtrack section, which I think is a good idea by the way. If you mean how to create a section in the Season 6's page for the soundtrack, you need to click on Edit on the main page. Then, where you want to enter that section, do == name of the section == and enter the content below that.

However, if you mean how to add a link to an article, then more specifically to a section in this article, I did something like that in the track list for the song Lick it Lollipop. Since it's only a single and doesn't appear on any album, I created a link to the Singles section on RuPaul's discography section. You just need to add a # in the link, for example, [RuPaul_discography#Singles|Lick It Lollipop ]--> Lick It Lollipop will redirect you to a section specifically. It's so when people go to search "RuPaul Presents: The Covergurlz" and/or "The Covergurlz" it will automatically redirect to that section in this article. You have to request to have all search results & wikilinks redirect to a different article or section of an article, different as in different from the words in the search or link. Spoilers

I understand that Wikipedia doesn't do spoiler warnings anymore, but I think something should be done about spoilers for episodes that have not fully aired yet. Somewhere else in this talk section a person mentioned that those are sometimes spammers. While that may sometimes be true, sometimes they're correct (it seems, in fact, that they often are correct, at least the ones I've noticed). I think this is because Logo releases part of the upcoming episode on their Logo TV app (specifically giving away the winners of mini-challenges). Not everyone has access to the Logo TV app because it's only available on iTunes (I, myself, use Amazon app). If you do a google search, you will find quickly that Benjamin Putnam is indeed BenDeLaCreme irl name. It states that: "Darienne Lake is the first contestant ever to not be eliminated after being in the bottom two 3 times", which I believe is incorrect, as stated in Wikipedia, "Coco Montrese is the first contestant in Drag Race history to lip sync four times in the same season.", so Coco Montrese is actually the first contestant ever to not be eliminated after being in the bottom two 3 times, she was eliminated after the 4th lip sync.

Hello all.

If you are going to modify the information about any of the contestants (city, age, name, etc), or as a matter of fact, any information on this page, please provide a reliable source to back up your change. This is just basic wikipedia rules. If you do a modification, provide source, pretty simple.

If you can't provide a source, the modification will just get revert back everytime, and you will waste your time doing it. I am only saying this because currently people are modifying information in the Contestants section, and don't provide sources or links to back up the changes. Ongoing discussion regarding high, safe and low placements.

Hello all. Currently, at the page for the RPDR Wikiproject, we started a discussion about how to properly define these placements, since the lack of clear criteria has led to a lot of subjective edits and in some cases, edit warring. Since these definitions could potentially effect the placement tables through all the seasons, we would like to receive the widest possible input, to make sure that all the views and perspectives are taken in account.
