Meaning of "Ruan" surname?

• Support merge from zhongruan. There isn't really enough information about the various specific sizes of ruan to warrant separate articles (as there is, for example, for the violin, viola, and cello). Badagnani 03:54, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Construction of the Ruan

Although the Ruan is made with different materials today than it was 2000 years ago, the means of creating it today are very similar to the ancient ways. Notable players and composers

Are all of the people listed notable as both players and composers? Or are some of them just noted players, others just noted composers, and some both?

The article on zhongruan lists players and composers separately; I think the same standard should be applied to this article, but I don't know enough about the people listed to make the change myself. 74.95.43.249 (talk) 21:17, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
