"Common blackberry"

A number of sources ([1], [2], [3], [4], for example) list "Common blackberry" as a common name for this species; however, I'm concerned a redirect from Common blackberry to here would cause confusion with Rubus fruticosus (arguably the most common blackberry, and what most people probably want to find when searching for "common blackberry"). I'm happy to leave Common blackberry uncreated, but I'm open to any other ideas. Mysterious Whisper (SHOUT) 19:39, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

The preceding links were just the first few results of a google search; follow-up searches on google scholar (and several other article databases) for "Common blackberry" reveal most articles give either "Rubus allegheniensis" or just "Rubus spp." (and, suprisingly, almost none list "Rubus fruticosus") as scientific names. As such, I'm tentatively creating Common blackberry as a redirect to Rubus allegheniensis, with "'Common Blackberry' redirects here. For other uses, see 'Rubus fruticosus'". Feel free to modify. ...And (3 years later) User:Plantdrew changed the redirect into a disambiguation. Despite this action not being supported by the consensus of the reliable sources (at least according to what I wrote above, I haven't checked again), for the sake of practicality, I'm not opposed to this. ʍw 21:19, 24 October 2015 (UTC)

@Mysterious Whisper:; Common blackberry does seem to refer to R. allegheniensis most frequently on web searches, but the only link to that title (3 years later...) intended R. fruticosus (which is admittedly a mess). I disambiguated that link, and it seemed to me that making "common blackberry" a dab/SIA would avoid future link problems. Plantdrew (talk) 06:07, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
