Talk:Ruby McGregor-Smith/Archives/2013

Missing Facts

There are a couple of facts missing from the article. Firstly Ian Stewart became Deputy Chairman - not chairman - when McGregor-Smith was appointed as CEO (references: Management Today and This is Money). Secondly it's worth adding to the information box that McGregor-Smith is married and has two children (references: City AM and Sunday Times).

Also the article title should include CBE after Ruby McGregor-Smith's name and again after her name in the first line.Vivj2012 (talk) 16:12, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
At a glance, I can't see references to Stewart's becoming Deputy Chairman in the two sources you cite here.
Do you want to make a specific suggestion for the infobox additions?
I've added the CBE to the first line. I don't believe article titles are usually changed to include it. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 18:16, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
Arthur thanks for adding CBE to the article. The point about her being married with two children should be added to the information box please.
You're right about the link to Stewart's position not being correct, apologies! News articles on MITIE's website and the LSE website confirms this point MITIE Website and LSE Website Thanks Vivj2012 (talk) 13:13, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
Both these changes are now done - the family information as a separate "Personal life" section that is then also summarised in the infobox. I can't access the Sunday Times article, though the CityAm one is sufficient for this.
A number of Wikipedia Good Articles on businesspeople seem to list the children's first names in the infobox; I'm not sure if just listing "2" as I've done is generally acceptable. Does the Sunday Times article mention their names? If not, they could probably be added without a source if you know them. Likewise also years of birth (I don't think exact dates of birth should be listed) - the CityAm article describes them as 15 and 13 but that gets out of date too easily. Qualification

Mcgregor-Smith actually qualified as an accountant in 1990 then joined Serco in 1991, so the sentence should read: She qualified in 1990 and in 1991 joined Serco Group PLC, an outsourcing firm, where she worked for nine years in a range of operational and financial roles. If someone would be kind enough to make this change. Thanks Vivj2012 (talk) 15:50, 13 September 2013 (UTC)

I've removed the 1991 qualifying date as unsourced, and fixed the joining date to 1991 based on the cited source. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 05:04, 17 September 2013 (UTC)
