POV
editWorks of fiction, caricatures and such like often say a lot about the writer or artist, but photographs less so. Is not the statement that "These nude images often say more about the fantasies and culture of the photographers than about the portrayed cultures. According to Pascal Baetens they border on racism and ethnocentrism" rather POV?
If this viewpoint must be aired, would it not be more balanced to instead say that "According to Pascal Baetens these nude images border on racism and ethnocentrism. In his view such images often say more about the fantasies and culture of the photographers than about the portrayed cultures". Royalcourtier (talk) 04:26, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
- I think it does not introduce a diverting meaning when turned around. I can't remember what order it was in the book. I am not convinced that the author of the book should be mentioned here, because the book is referenced, but a user objected to the observation, and thought it necessary to include it, as if it is not a general observation but the personal opinion of Baetens.
