editShe clapped during a radio interview at Hackensack, New Jersey to test the acoustics, Rudy Van Gelder was not pleased. Xb2u7Zjzc32 (talk) 13:54, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Van Gelder Studio article
editI have suggested moving all unduplicated content of the Van Gelder Studio article on the discussion page. No reason for two pieces, nothing there would be out of place here. Philip Cross (talk) 23:13, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
List of recordings
editThis article would benefit from a selected list of recordings he made. Or a new article linked here. ----Design (talk) 01:10, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- The list is at Van Gelder Studio. The last few decades are underdeveloped at present. Philip Cross (talk) 07:58, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
Citation with accessdate and no URL
editThis page is giving a "Citation with accessdate and no URL" error. Recently I combed through the entire article, but my edits were reverted, contrary to WP documentation, etiquette, and common sense. A citation was done incorrectly and needs to be changed.

You can do what you want with the categories. The Wikiproject Jazz page lists errors that need to be cleaned up. That's what led me to the Van Gelder page. It's on the list of citation errors. I found errors, fixed them, improved the article in other ways, and then you undid my work with one click, one massive revert without discussing any of those changes. This appears to be a bad habit of yours. I realize now that you feel that you own New Jersey, so I'll do what I can to avoid any article related to New Jersey. Now, which citation is giving the "Citation with accessdate and no URL" error? Can that be fixed so I can go on my way, or is that a big deal, too?

- I realize that you own articles for all musicians of all styles and genres. If the categories are left unchanged, I have no issue with the other edits you've identified prior to this discussion here and I will be happy to restore these entries to the article. - That's a dumb thing to say. Do you see me editing "all genres"? No, overwhelming jazz. I have proof. Do you see me making massive reverts the way you do? No. I have proof. Do you see me listing articles on User Page that I have worked on as if they were mine? No. I have proof. You don't have proof for your dumb comment. It's just a way for you to avoid apologizing and admitting you were wrong. Again.
- The evidence is in the behavior. You have many New Jersey articles on your User page. You've spent years concentrating on New Jersey, and you have more projects in the works. OK, that's what you want to do. But those articles are not yours. I know what turf battles are. You can't lay claim to the entire state of New Jersey. You may feel that years of editing for Wikipedia have earned you the right to undo hours of work by others without explanation, but that's wrong. There is no private property here. Those articles aren't yours, and you don't have the right to flout Wikipedia's rules. You do have the freedom to act in deplorable ways, but I ask you to consider whether shabby behavior is what you want to be known for, rather than as a generous contributor and scrupulous editor.
