This entire article is taken verbatim from http://www.rumford.com/articleWhat.html without ever citing that as a source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.118.215.130 (talk) 21:47, 2006 November 8 (UTC)

the article is no longer verbatim, but still contains quite a bit of content from that article, though i don't know how to flag such a thing... Chillywillycd (talk) 19:00, 2 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

heating efficiency

edit

You can omit the part about heating efficiency. A Rumford fireplace might be a step up from an open fire, and a step up from old chimneys, but by todays standards they're not considered efficient; they have high emissions and high heat losses.

Some goverment entities, like the S.F. Bay Area air resources board, will fine you for operating a fireplace, esp its a spare the air day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.147.149.61 (talk) 14:25, 2010 December 19 (UTC)
