Political stance

edit

The recently added "Political stance and editorial opinion" is essentially a WP:COATRACK, since it talks about founder Nelson Bocaranda and not about the outlet per se (which has included sources that even predate the Runrunes' creation). WP:SYNTH should also be reminded since it does not mean that Bocaranda's positions are shared by the Runrunes editorial staff. Notifying @Casra:, as they questioned the removal the first time around, so they can share their thoughts. While I'm at it, I'll also share the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Venezuela/Reliable and unreliable sources#Latest changes, where several of these problems are expressed. @WMrapids: Please address the concerns here before reverting again. Be mindful of WP:BRD. --NoonIcarus (talk) 01:36, 16 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Saw your concerns. Still does not take away from sources describing it as "pro-opposition". WMrapids (talk) 01:58, 16 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
No they don't. Reuters and LatAm Journalism Review by the Knight Center don't make any mention about Runrunes' position, only Bocaranda's. --NoonIcarus (talk) 11:19, 16 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Still no response to the issues over here. --NoonIcarus (talk) 00:24, 19 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Runrunes is Bocaranda's personal website, so the inclusion of his political stance is warranted. WMrapids (talk) 05:23, 19 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
This is currently being sorted out in a noticeboard, but just for the record: saying that Runrunes is Bocaranda's personal website is your personal opinion, and it is not supported by the sources. You're citing pages that date back to 2012 and that refer to his columns, far from the investigative newspaper that Runrun.es has become after 12 years and include their Victims Monitor. Even in the contrary, you're still using sources that talk about Bocaranda and not the outlet. --NoonIcarus (talk) 12:19, 19 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
