I have been working on this article and plan to introduce some new content and make edits to the page starting later this week. I hope these changes will make the page more comprehensive and accurate. I am going to bring in new perspectives from recent scholarship on the subject. I will also be removing some statements that rely heavily on a single source, are broad generalizations, or are not cited.

I also will propose a new outline structure for the page for clarity. I am hopeful that readers and contributors will find these headings useful as they read on the topic.

I plan to introduce these changes gradually over the next couple of weeks adding new information as I am able to invest time into the project and draft stronger content.

I hope these changes are useful as a starting point for a strong, informative page on “Rurality and Queerness.” As both are broad terms encompassing many different individuals' and communities' experiences, I am excited that the Wiki community will have a chance to continue adding additional perspectives, stories, and information after my contribution to the page ‘goes live.’ \

I just added a revised lead section to the article. This new lead section conveys the multitude of experiences within the category rural. It also introduced the range of experiences of queer folx in rural areas which my future edits to later sections of the article will provide more information about.

I also inserted one new section and several new sources to the page. There are a few generalized statements in this section that could use clarification or further citing. I invite others to help make those changes. Otherwise, I will re-visit the section later on to improve it.

Moved to conform with Wikipedia style, which uses "LGBT" rather than "queer" for the topic in general. –Roscelese (talkcontribs) 18:10, 15 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Further moved this as I can't find any examples of "LGBT and..." pages which aren't redirects now (plus, LGBT people and rurality makes more sense). This article still needs some serious cleanup. --Bangalamania (talk) 15:11, 23 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
