The page states, "Vittoria's sons took the Ruspoli name and coat of arms to guarantee the continuity of the house." What is meant by the house? It is my understanding that Nobility titles in Italy could not pass thru the maternal lines so what essentially took place was carrying on the surname only is that was is meant? Is this page therefore a historical document prior to this occurring? I do not understand.

Also, there is a point mentioned in the family name history that states regarding the name origin, "reported on the official "Libro d'oro della Nobiltà Italiana" published by the Collegio Araldico," it should be noted that publication is not definitive as it does not include a number of very old Italian aristocratic families whom are missing that are of very ancient origin. Furthermore, reference is also noted to Scottish ties and that is stated originating from an early 1920s Almanach de Gotha in the reference, but that does not appear to be specifically mentioned in the text.

Clarification may be in order and maybe a history of the Scottish names mentioned be reviewed is in order? Does the Almanach de Gotha specifically mention this family or do other family histories tangentially mention this family thru another family and if so can that be used as reference to this? Can someone please clarify for accuracy? Thank you. 33L71488 (talk) 16:29, 14 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
