The nrhp doc for the hotel is clear that J. Edwin Carpenter, trained in Beaux-Arts style, designed it. Could Hart have supervised a renovation or submitted a design not accepted, or something? Yes, it's possible. "Mr. Hart, a partner in the engineering firm of Hart, Freeland & Roberts, had served as architect on many buildings throughout the state, including the National Life building, Hermitage hotel, and the Interstate Life building at Chattanooga.".Zigzig20s (talk) 11:16, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

A quick look suggests that Carpenter is the Hermitage Hotel architect. Agreed, Hart's obit that mentions him designing the Hotel may well have referred to a renovation. I'll get into it further to see what I can find. Thanks for the heads-up. Eagledj (talk) 00:13, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

FWIW, NRIS2013a indicates Hart association with NRHP-listed

The Lewis County Courthouse says "Hart & Russell" in the infobox. We'll need to figure out who Russell was, unless it's an error... It could be "Hart, Russell" instead of "Hart & Russell"? The Parthenon is in Centennial Park, which used to be the Burlington Plantation--at least in part--but that is off topic. The Parthenon was designed by William Crawford Smith in 1897 and apparently rebuilt by Hart in 1931. The 1897 Parthenon looks very similar, so perhaps Hart simply renovated it?Zigzig20s (talk) 17:44, 8 June 2019 (UTC)
