Added links to article

edit

I see that the automated system labeled this article as an "orphan" so I added links to it from the pages of the narrator and two of the people credited as being historical consultants. Peter4Truth (talk) 19:15, 13 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Aleksei Rybin

edit

Aleksei Rybin needs his own page. I included external references to him (in episode 10) but there is a book and a documentary about him so he clearly has a story to tell. Peter4Truth (talk) 13:20, 4 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

As I recall, we aren't supposed to link to anything considered social media but there is a playlist of episodes on YouTube.

Comment on length of episode summaries

edit

The episode summaries are obviously more than summaries. I want every person, place and preferably event mentioned in the programs to be identified and linked back to an article about them. As such, I hope this article will be a companion to the television programs to allow further research instead of a mere overview. Peter4Truth 20:33, 30 May 2021‎

Song identification

edit

What is the song at the end from which these lyrics are read?

A tiny flame still flickers in the campfire here
and for every glowing ember I have shed a tear.
As I cower in this dugout an accordian softly cries,
singing of your smile and the color of your eyes.
As wind whispers through the bushes,
it seems to speak your name.
, From snow white fields near Moscow,
my love is mixed with pain.
I long to hear your own voice
and for you to hear mine,
telling you how desperately I miss you all the time.
