Talk:Russia–Switzerland relations

Article Organization

edit

While I've been making copyedits to this article over the past week, I've noticed that it's organization is somewhat lacking. Most of the information in the latter two/three sections is provided in almost a list format of just facts about the relationship between these two countries. Additionally, most of the information seems to be about Swiss behavior towards Russia, not the other way around (which can be seen through the fact that most of the article's sources are from swissinfo.com). Either way, I'd like some help rewriting the parts of the article that have issues with them, preferably from an actual user. ― Tuna + 21:18, 8 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

I would like to remind editors to make sure their edits follow the WP:MOS when making edits. I'm noticing a lot of issues since I've returned, especially spaces before references and bare link citations. ― Tuna + 15:48, 19 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

I re-instated two small sentences about Georgia and recent Swiss airspace closure. Not sure what the problem is... Cheers:)172.58.239.114 (talk) 15:57, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

I removed the one about airspace as it was already implied and not necessary, and was also wasn't worded correctly. The one about Georgia also wasn't relevant since it's not specifically about Switzerland or Russia, and I wasn't sure exactly what the sentence meant since it wasn't grammatically correct either. However, I'll leave them in for now. Also, when you add references, please use the citation template and don't add bare links. It's a hassle to fix. ― Tuna + 03:51, 21 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for y/response! (Switzerland is the “protecting power” of Georgia in Russia...as such it fits this article IMHO.) For the rest I formatted the new citation using the free tool at: https://citer.toolforge.org/. Hope it helps.. 172.58.236.70 (talk) 14:19, 21 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
For citations, you can always the template button at the top of your edit box, which looks like a puzzle piece. You can just type "cite web" and it will give you the relevant information to fill out. Also, do you mean "Georgians in Russia"? ― Tuna + 14:26, 21 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
I can’t use that tool because I am an “IP editor” with the CIA. They said it is untraceable this way! (sic)

But *seriously*, thanks much for the info (which i already knew because of the above) :)

PS: Georgia went to war with Russia years ago and since Russia has no diplomatic representation there, it is the Swiss who do it for them (aka as “Cheese diplomacy”):) 01:23, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
