Requesting guidance
editAs a network security professional i've researched this organization and come up with a lot of data that does not have appropriate sources namely due to the fact that it's never before been researched. How should this be addressed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.225.159.119 (talk) 21:36, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- Unfortunately that is original research, and therefore not suitable for a Wikipedia article unless you have published your findings in a verifiable way, for example in a professional journal. To quote from the "Original research" policy I linked to a moment ago:
- This policy does not prohibit editors with specialist knowledge from adding their knowledge to Wikipedia, but it does prohibit them from drawing on their personal knowledge without citing their sources. If an editor has published the results of his or her research in a reliable publication, the editor may cite that source while writing in the third person and complying with our NPOV policy.
Removed
editI've removed the information quoted below from the article. This is not appropriate for a wikipedia article, although if somebody wants to host it elsewhere a link to it would be appropriate.
