I would like to improve this article for my class assignment. I am thinking about adding these following sections: Information provided about the lyricist and composer of the anthem When/why the anthem was written Expand the brief notion of European influence Briefly discuss the colonial history of Madagascar. Perhaps a short section on how it is currently received and any major controversies surrounding it would also be useful.

Among other sources, I am thinking about using these: (Any additional source suggestions would be welcome) Colonial Sources: Madagascar and its People: Notes of a Four Years' Residence by James Sibree, Jun.

I added new sections to this article, focusing more on the writer and composer of the anthem, a brief section on the musical style and analysis of the anthem, as well as on the history of Madagascar independence as it relates to the anthem. I intended to add more post-colonial content, making it clear that the anthem has strong French and European styles. Claremaier (talk) 01:59, 28 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
