Ryan's passing

edit

Anon IP user 74.98.185.237 has Ryan as having passed away on Feb. 14. I remember hearing at that time that Ryan had been hospitalized but was still alive. Is the Feb. 14 date of death confirmable?Shawn in Montreal 17:15, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have since heard this confirmed, so please disregard my above question and my condolences to his friends and colleagues.Shawn in Montreal 17:45, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

New additions, removals and modifications

edit

Hello, everyone!

I've made some somewhat substantial changes to the article that I will detail:

-Expanded on the short description to include where Larkin grew up, a bit about his family and what styles and animation techniques he used and was known for.

-Expanded on His early life with some details about him running from home and hating high School, events that eventually led to him attending the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts School

-Modified the NFB years section. This section was the main reason I started work on this article as there was a very inflammatory paragraph written that stated "In 1975, the NFB commissioned Larkin to create a mural for the entrance foyer at its Montreal headquarters. Larkin, who was bi-sexual, delivered a piece featuring an adolescent boy with an erection, which the NFB removed from viewing." The paragraph seems to imply that Larkins sexuality had something to do with the inappropriate mural. It also has no citations for the claim of Larkin being Bi-sexual and it makes no sense for Larkins sexuality to be mentioned in this specific paragraph. Which leads me to my next addition...

-Added a personal life section where I added a paragraph on Larkins sexuality with actual backed sources. I mention that it was speculated as Larkin never came out publicly but there is lot of word-of-mouth recollections of Larkin talking about his sexuality.

Hope everyone agrees on these modifications

Thanks!
