The result of the move request was: moved. Consensus is for the move rather than the creation of a disambiguation page. If another notable Ryan Palmer emerges from the woodwork, the creation of a disambiguation page might be warranted then. Mkativerata (talk) 21:29, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Ryan Palmer (golfer) → Ryan Palmer — Ryan Palmer the PGA tour golfer should be dominant search term for 'Ryan Palmer'. Catchpole (talk) 21:42, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
- A simple solution would be to rename the current Ryan Palmer to Ryan Palmer (chess player) and make Ryan Palmer a disambiguation page. I suspect there are other Ryan Palmer's who might warrant a biography. Otherwise the proposed move is fine as the golfer is not only better known than the chess player but also is more heavily linked, and this disparity is almost certain to continue to grow. In fact two links to the chess player were intended to link the golfer—I have fixed these. Quale (talk) 00:57, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
- Support move of Ryan Palmer (golfer) to Ryan Palmer per WP:PRIME. Current Ryan Palmer should move to Ryan Palmer (chess player) as suggested. wjematherbigissue 12:29, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
- Support, the golfer seems to be primary topic, and people looking for the chess player will find him just as easily with a hatnote as they would with a disambiguation page.--Kotniski (talk) 12:53, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
- Note: I've moved the chess player per consensus on that article, corrected the remaining links and redirected "Ryan Palmer" to the golfer. So all that remains to be done is to move this page (unless consensus is that there should be a disambiguation page, which for me seems unnecessary).--Kotniski (talk) 13:07, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
