editIs this photo (and this and this) Ryder? To me it looks more like Peter Stetina, but I'm not sure. --Pirker (talk) 06:26, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
- Ya those are definitely not Hesjedal, I think they might be Stetina too but I cannot confirm that. Krazytea(talk) 18:45, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
Name
editHow do you prounounce his name? Could someone that knows add it to the article or say here in the talk page Carlwev (talk) 11:42, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
- 17-20 seconds into the video from reference no. 1, they pronounce the origin of the name from Norway. --Pirker (talk) 15:34, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
- but in English it might be pronounced more like this --Pirker (talk) 15:39, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
- Ya it is pronounced Hey ja dal or [1]. Krazytea(talk) 16:18, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
- but in English it might be pronounced more like this --Pirker (talk) 15:39, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
Personal
editIs the information in the personal section really relevant? "His great-grandparents were Norwegian immigrants from Beiarn in Nordland and Stamnes in Vaksdal.[21]"???
I wouldn't even consider the birthplace of his parents to be relevant unless it was unusual. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.71.144.60 (talk) 19:23, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- Someone added it in the intro a while back and it didn't fit there so I created the personal section for stuff like that. I think some people find this stuff relevant so I did not delete and just created the section rather than start some sort of edit war. Krazytea(talk) 02:31, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
- It is relevant for Norwegians who wonder why he has a Norwegian last name. --Pirker (talk) 20:15, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
I don't think it matters especially since i think it's only referring to two of the eight great grand parents. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.146.88.78 (talk) 02:46, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
