Merger proposal
editFC Etar (Veliko Tarnovo) & FC Etar 1924 Veliko Tarnovo & SFC Etar Veliko Tarnovo has been proposed for merging into Etar Veliko Tarnovo.
Reasoning: The three clubs are the same club, despite the bankruptcies, similarly to Rangers F.C., A.C.R. Messina, Darlington FC or Newport County. The articles are almost exactly the same, and there is no reason to keep 3 almost identical articles about what is essentially the same club.
Please participate in the merger discussion. Abcmaxx (talk) 15:00, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose I don't think they are all the same - I think you could maybe make this argument about the two clubs founded in the last 20 years, but not between those and the oldest club. They are treated as separate clubs on the Bulgarian Wikipedia, and there's a mention that the oldest club still fields teams in youth leagues. SportingFlyer talk 01:29, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose As I was invoved in creating of the article about the latest team, I have read enouth information about why these teas are differant. The main reason for creating new article was, that both FC Etar and FC Etar 1924 had active youth teams while SFC Etar was founded. I still believe these are differant teams, leaded and founded by differant ways and the common here is just the names and fans recognising the team, but as a companies they are all differant, still holding activities by itselfs if I understand correctly. So, the differance here and between the clubs you mentined is that the old clubs were not or are still not fully dissabled. FC Etar still have youth teams active and Etar 1924 have active debts. Since SFC Etar don't want to pay them and acquired the 1924 team, I see no point to merge them. Chris Calvin (talk) 13:01, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
