  • Franz von Hipper was its first commander. I think this is notable.
  • Kaiser's Cup; a footnaote could help to understand what that was
  • Could you add the crew size to the infobox?

yes, sorry!

  • she was christioned by Alfred von Schlieffen see Hildebrand, Röhr and Steinmetz Volume 3 pages 211, 212
  • according to Hildebrand, Röhr and Steinmetz Volume 3 pages 211, she was named after cruiser frigate Gneisenau
  • sea trials between 26 March and mid July 1908 in the Baltic Sea, Hildebrand, Röhr and Steinmetz Volume 3 pages 212
  • officially joined the High Sea Fleet on 12 July, Hildebrand, Röhr and Steinmetz Volume 3 pages 212
  • she won the Kaiser Cup twice in 08/09 for armored cruisers and in twice again 10/11 for cruiser squadrons (with Scharnhorst). This is a bit unclear in the article, Hildebrand, Röhr and Steinmetz Volume 3 pages 212

I think that's it MisterBee1966 (talk) 06:19, 19 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
