Modified "excuted simultaneously" description
editMuch like the article on the SPARC T4, I have modified the text in this article to remove the phrase "of which 2 can be executed simultaneously" from the description of the S3 core's multi-threaded capabilities. I have replaced it with a more accurate description of the core as a "dual-issue" processor. Please see my much longer note on the SPARC T4 talk page for more details. --Menacer (talk) 07:09, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
Discontinue date?
editThe discontinue date for this page has been listed as "today" since the second edit of this page in 2013. SPARC was announced to be discontinued by Oracle in 2017[1][2], with Solaris entering extended support, but does anyone know if this revision was discontinued specifically before all SPARC servers were discontinued? Oracle's End of Life page contains links to documentation for the servers using the T5 and T7 series respectively, both of which have (different) modified dates, but I doubt those were the dates that they were originally added to the EOL list as any revision to that page would obviously set a newer date, as well as the T5 page being nearly identical now compared to the 2016-updated-page archived on Archive.org in 2017. This list includes T5-based servers, but has been edited since 2015 to include all servers which were discontinued in 2017 — the list is missing the T7 series, but otherwise contains predecessors to the T5 (T4 and T3) as well as some M series servers. The links for T5 based servers lead to pages containing supported hardware for the respective servers, and they include last-order-dates of May 2016, with some posts being last edited in 2016. The T5-1B Modular's post was last edited in 2015, with the last comment in the thread dating in 2017. These are the only dates I have related to the T5, I can't find anything else related to the T5 series specifically. There may be threads I am missing in Oracle's Community forum, but you can't view threads without logging in so beyond the information I could gather from previews in search I've only got the one list: my search results didn't seem to have any context to the T5-1 or T5-2 server lines. I don't have a paid Oracle contract to view anything else. --Ltphoenix (talk) 19:12, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
