Pronounciation
editNo one says "spen-go" upstream. Please stop changing the article to an unused pronounciation; it is confusing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.187.233.207 (talk) 14:38, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

MIT kerberos
editI notice that v 1.5.1 of MIT kerberos now "supports SPNEGO" (donated by Sun). This seems to deserve a mention. Sma045 04:49, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
IETF link
editThe link to the ietf page with Microsofts internet draft for the 'HTTP negotiate' extension to SPENGO appears to be broken. Does anyone know where it might live now? I can't find it to fix the link. EvilGrin 13:10, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Vintela link
editThe "vintela" link is dead (redirects to something unrelated on quest), so I killed it. ~~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sofocleus (talk • contribs) 15:50, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Survey
editOK, let's take a survey. How do YOU say SPNEGO is conversation with others? I say "spang-go". Someone else said they say "spuh-nay-go". That's one vote each. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.171.180.101 (talk) 22:13, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
New page, redirects to this article
editHi - I added a new page SPENGO and redirected it here, as everyone I know pronounces is SPENGO. Hope thats OK. Kruiskouter (talk) 14:56, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
Lead to be rewritten
editThe lean/introduction needs to be rewritten. It does not really define what SPNEGO is in the first paragraph. --Mortense (talk) 21:29, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
- I think the intro does define it. However, the definition is relying on the technical meaning of "mechanism" and someone unfamiliar with GSSAPI would have to go look that up. Perhaps describing where SPNEGO is typically used in some non-technical terms would help? How about:
- SPNEGO (Simple and Protected GSSAPI Negotiation Mechanism) is a standardized protocol used by client-server software to negotiate the choice of security technology. DLeonard (talk) 07:53, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
Present history
editWhy is section "History" in present tense? Should it be different? --Mortense (talk) 21:40, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
Browser support
editThe list of browsers that support SPNEGO needs to be updated to include Opera and Edge. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.171.65.203 (talk) 23:33, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
