Use of photographs in this article

Can we check the photographs in this article for (1) relevance and (2) technical qualities? Tony May (talk) 05:57, 24 June 2019 (UTC)

  1. This has a platform covering part of the engine, and though the exposure isn't bad, it is taken from the shadow side. I think there are better photos.
• 
  2. This is a historical photo and should be included, even though its condition is different.
• 
  3. I'm not sure we need both this one and the next one. This is too small, suggest ditching it.
•

  5. Again, one of a sequence.
• 
  6. 35018 with Bodmin nameplates making its first moves on the mainline since 1964.

WP:IUP should be our guide. To my mind this is a case where a gallery has been justified. The images not used will of course still be available in commons. I agree with the removal of 1,3,5 and 7. I agree with the inclusion of 2,4,6 and 9 and one of 8 and 10 which show the left side, with a slight preference for 10 as it is the only one with 35018 chuffing away. I had not checked the identity of the photographers before making my choices but as Tony May may be prevented from removing one image I would be happy to do so after a week or two pause for other commentsSovalValtos (talk) 10:44, 26 July 2019 (UTC)

I was considering starting the change of photos when I realised a decision on infobox pic had not been made. Ideas Tony May? I would have liked an early one but the only one we have (2) is best used in the gallery. Perhaps 10 chuffing?SovalValtos (talk) 15:30, 31 July 2019 (UTC)

Please go ahead and make changes, [[User:SovalValtos and trust your own judgement. 8 or 10 I think should be the main one. Neither is perfect, magazine-quality but it'll do until something better becomes available. Tony May (talk) 15:40, 31 July 2019 (UTC)
