Layoffs That Never Happened

Hello editors! SSENSE has hired me to request a small correction to its Wikipedia page. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you. Signed, BlueRoses13 (talk) 14:37, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
The last paragraph of the “history” section says the following:
In January 2023, SSENSE laid off approximately 7% of its workforce, impacting 138 employees. In April 2023, Ssense again laid off more than 10% of its workforce including mid level management people.[1]
Both these layoffs are sourced to https://www.businessoffashion.com/articles/retail/ssense-job-cuts/, which was published in January 2023. But it’s impossible for an article published in January to confirm layoffs that allegedly happened in April.
Indeed, the April layoffs never happened; there are no news articles that say otherwise; and SSENSE confirms that there have been no layoffs since January 2023.
Can we therefore remove the sentence, “In April 2023, Ssense again laid off more than 10% of its workforce including mid level management people”?
