Corliss engine on SS Greater Detroit???

edit

SS Greater Detroit’s sister ship, SS Greater Buffalo had a three cylinder compound steam engine. According to the web site, Historic Detroit. Org, SS Greater Detroit had the same three cylinder compound steam engine as SS Greater Buffalo, https://historicdetroit.org/buildings/greater-detroit.

Due to the pitch and roll of the marine environment, Corliss engines weren’t used on ships..

Therefore, SS Greater Detroit’s Wikipedia account is the Only steam powered ship with a Corliss Engine??

Something is amiss here 108.58.175.210 (talk) 23:37, 14 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

SS Greater Detroit: 10,000 Hp
Sister Ship, SS Greater Buffalo: 1915 Hp
two similar ships having, similar power plants,
however one ship has Five Times the shaft horsepower of the other vessel?
The same laws of thermodynamics exist on both ships? 108.58.175.210 (talk) 23:08, 15 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
