Duke of Kent
editIf the party was in 1927, its fairly easy to work out the Prince of Wales was the future Edward VIII, the British Prime Minister was Stanley Baldwin and the Canadian William Lyon Mackenzie King. But there was no Duke of Kent in 1927, Prince George, Duke of Kent did not take the title until 1934. Does the article mean the 'future' Duke of Kent? In which case are the other figures mentioned the current holders of the title, or past holders, or those shortly to succeed to the titles? Benea (talk) 11:15, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- An interesting but minor point. I'd say that explaining it as the future Earl of Kent would be accurate, but detract from the flow of the article. Perhaps just removing him from the list of guests is simpler. --Kevin Murray (talk) 12:49, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- How about '...hosted the Prince of Wales, his brother Prince George, and the Prime Ministers of both...' The main thing I wondered was whether this was a mistake in the source, antedating his title, and therefore was the same mistake made about the other members of the party? Other steam yacht survivors
editThe complete absence of citations is regrettable. In particular, the source for "However, Cangarda is the last surviving US-built steam yacht in the US, and one of only three left in the world." I assume that this means vessels built as steam yachts and still in existence with their steam engines (though in this case the hull is a replica). What are the other two?
