Notoriety

edit

"Schmitz gained fame(edited notoriety as thats not what she got/done) in the United Kingdom for showing-up BBC Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson"

Notoriety is a bit much isn't it? I'd say she was just 'known' in the UK for it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Andy29 (talkcontribs) 13:04, 5 May 2007 (UTC).Reply

Television career

edit

Looing back at "Jeremy Clarkson Meets the Neighbours" series, there is footage of Sabine driving Jeremy round the Nurburgring, which would have been 2002? But I guess more UK people would have come across her first on Top Gear.91.111.21.4 (talk) 22:12, 31 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

"The Top Gear presenters arrived in WWII Spitfires for comedic effect."

Weren't they Hurricanes?

Spitfires. The elliptical wing shape is unmistakable. The lines were somewhat spoiled by the "passenger bubbles", though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Oom Kosie (talkcontribs) 18:51, 30 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Quotes

edit

Adding a quote as "Scheisse" makes no sense. This is not something specific to Sabine. I will remove it. Oom Kosie (talk) 18:52, 30 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

24 hour race winner

edit

At where it was quoted ...and is the first woman to win a major 24h race, I had to remove this as this is totally inaccurate as although it is an overlooked part of a history but Odette Siko achieved this feat (and came 4th) at the 1932 24 Hours of Le Mans. Donnie Park (talk) 12:45, 28 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Mme Siko only has won her class, not overall, like Sabine Reck/Schmitz did twice in the 1990s. --87.141.24.27 (talk) 23:51, 17 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Date of Death

edit

Date of death has been reported by her racing team as 2021-03-16 whilst news was only broken on 2021-03-17. https://twitter.com/Frikadelli_R/status/1372104718563086336 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sedge86 (talkcontribs) 09:30, 17 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps we should wait for a better source anyway. 16 seems more likely. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:46, 17 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
When the news was broken is irrelevant. These things are usually delayed, telling her employers isn't going to be a priority.

World Touring Car Championship

edit

Can somebody please explain the table in this section? Even with the key, it makes no sense to me, and likely little sense to many other viewers. The table is only presented, with rows of boxes containing what seems to be very minimal information. Here are a few of the questions which the presence of the table raises:

What is its significance in relation to Sabine Schmitz?

Which races was she in? It seems to be only two races in each season, or am I wrong?

What were her finishing positions?

How many points did she earn?

What was her standing at the end of the seasons?

How many other competitors were there? Who were they?

What were their finishing positions?

How many points did they score?

Without a proper explanation, the table is useless.

Thank-you for your time and patience. 80.0.124.54 (talk) 20:51, 25 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Marriage History

edit

Info card indicates subject was married in 2000, but source [2] has no marriage information in it. Additionally, this is in conflict with information in section "Early Life", indicating that 2000 was the year she was divorced in, not married in (though this is not mutually exclusive, the info card does not even indicate she was divorced). 68.187.65.176 (talk) 22:14, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
