He also received the Indira Gandhi Prize conferred by India in 1992

He is a leading Japanese economist, developed Japanese Governmental Economics, and greatly contributed to Japan’s postwar economy. He also strongly supported Dr. Fengbo Zhang in introducing Western Economics to China, and establishing the modern economic theory and method for China top policy-making.
