@Thingsomyipisntvisable: While "... any posts made to any type of discussion page must be signed ...", it is not necessary to add your signature to everything, all the time. Signatures do not confer ownership of an article, only identify who contributed to a discussion about an article. If you are not starting a discussion, you haven't made a post that you need to sign. You are not even obligated to add WikiProject banners to the talk page, which are administrative anyway, so do not need to be signed in any case. If you have nothing meaningful to discuss, there is no point editing the talk page just to sign it, to say that you created the article. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 12:47, 31 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject banners

edit

@GenQuest: WikiProject banners are not pointless. The purpose of having them are so that different WikiProjects can track and improve the quality of articles. In this case this article discusses the criminal prosecution (and persecution) of Sadval members, so I think it is relevant to WikiProject Crime, at least. The general principle is that you should not police which WikiProjects monitor and assess an article. If you think a particular article has been over-bannered, then discuss it with the WikiProjects concerned, before removing the project banners. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 01:45, 19 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
