NPOV in the opening lines?
editThe bit about how the reaction should be renamed seems terribly non-NPOV, particularly since it cites no sources. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Everyday847 (talk • contribs) 18:08, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed, I have removed the statements V8rik (talk) 21:31, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Merger Proposal
editIt has come to my attention that allylation reactions involving silicon-based reactions have two dedicated pages, namely this one and Electrophilic substitution of unsaturated silanes. The latter page is decidedly more detailed but its name is somewhat clumsy and makes it hard to find. I may be acting in error here (and if that's the case let me know) but I feel as though the two pages have a lot of overlap. M.Levin 05:28, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
- Bad idea, Sakurai is mentioned only once in Electrophilic substitution of unsaturated silanes which covers a lot bigger topic Also a merger should be discussed on one talk page only, not two V8rik (talk) 17:55, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
Context needed
editUs non-chemists would appreciate an explanation of the importance of the Sakurai reaction - is it biologicially important, industrialy useful, illustrative of some especially important point in organic chemistry? Organic chemists who already know its significance aren't likely to be looking it up in a genera encyclopedia. --Wtshymanski (talk) 15:27, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
