Use of the term Suelta in relation to LA and NY styles
editEven if the term suelta is a technically correct term for describing "any instance of salsa being danced without touching a partner", I've never heard this term used to describe solo-dancing in the LA and NY-style salsa communities, which generally use the term "shines" instead.
Perhaps "suelta" should be described as a term used by the Cuban/Casino style salsa communities only, even if it's technically correct to apply it to the LA and NY style communities as well.
